Joschmi Typographic Poster

Typography design poster

For this project, you will develop systems of visual organization and learn more typography skills in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. Research your typeface's history as well as the typeface designer. Write a short paragraph about your typeface and its designer that you will use as copy on your poster. It should provide information about the typeface and fit with your design concept to help 'sell' the typeface.

here are some of the preliminary sketches I made
I wasn't super sold with any of the Ideas I had. However, I did like the look of the diagonal lettering in the last sketch. I tried a few iterations that included the author of the font's name, but I couldn't really get it to fit.

In my first Iteration on Illustrator, I decided to add some half circles to the sides to make the look more dynamic.

from there, I decided on putting the characters of the font on the edges of the half circles
Once this was done, I was notified that my pink and light pink color scheme didn't really fit the Bauhaus color scheme, and changed it to all reds, yellows, and blues

I experimented a little bit with what size and shape I wanted my yellow text box, but eventually settled on a longer, more rectangular shape

after in class critiques I decided to update the project based upon three main suggestions

1. Correct the Joschmi font to its original form instead of stretching it
2. Add my capital letter forms
3. Add a curve into my text shape

This was my final project
